The curriculum targets service providers, front line staff and interpreters. It covers three areas: healthcare, education and human services. The training is fun, highly interactive and provides practical tools for service providers.

Developing a Cultural Competence Plan for Your Organization
This session will help your organization promote equal access to public and community services and reduce health and educational disparities. The curriculum is based on national standards for cultural and linguistic competence from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Minority Health. It’s also based on federal laws, national best practices and cultural competence training standards.

As the Lead Interpreter in Pediatrics at the Universiy of Kansas Health System for the last 3 years, I have come to rely on Propio Language Services for our telephonic interpreting needs. Propio has actually been our department’s resource for the Over-the-Phone Interpretation for the last 10 years.

The Kansas CIty, Kansas Public Schools has been utilizing Propio Language Services for several years.
There are about 50 varieties of languages that families speak within the district and it has proven to be an effective and efficient way to communicate either by over-the-phone services of by on-site interpretation.
Propio Language Services assists us in our work with families during Parent/Teacher conferences in providing interpreters across the district of 50 schools. They have also proven to be top rate in learning the complexities of IEP meetings, home visits along with utilizing simultaneous interpreters for special events for community forums, award ceremonies and during enrollment.

I'm a therapist who can dread the interpretation process and she is a delight, overextending and interpreting therapy homework assignments for my client, staying positive, helping with scheduling, and really connecting to my client. She also absolutely connects my client to me in a meaningful way for therapy to occur.

My name is Becky, and I'm a night RN on HC7. I had the pleasure of working with one of your interpreters from Propio this weekend, Jeannette. She was absolutely wonderful! She came to the unit promptly, was pleasant with the staff and the patient, and went above and beyond in her job. A patient transferred to us from another unit, and the transporters didn't bring her chart. When Jeannette came to help us translate our assessment, we realized we didn't have the chart with the stickers in it. Jeannette kindly offered to walk all the way to the other unit (in the other hospital) to retrieve the chart AND bring it back to us. It was much appreciated on a busy shift. The next night, she helped me kindly explain that unaccompanied minors cannot stay on the unit without another adult present to a patient. She has gone above and beyond all weekend, and I wanted to make sure that you and her company, Propio, recognized her for all of her hard work. Thank you!
I just wanted to pass along another compliment regarding your Spanish interpreter Boris. Last week, during one of our Hearing Proceedings, the Hearing Officer (who works for a different Agency than mine) specifically stated during the proceeding that he always appreciated it, when Boris was the interpreter who called in.
